A 7m x 3.5m hand-painted silk dance backdrop to celebrate the 10th Irish Dance Feis hosted by McCarthy-Felton School of Irish Dance. The design comprises of Irish symbolism and the central feature is the company's dance logo

The initial illustration was approximately A5. It was scaled up and drawn onto wallpaper lining, I then traced the design onto the silk. The design had to be painted on five 3.5m lengths of silk, which were sewn together to create the backdrop.

Four wallpaper pasting tables were used for each piece. The tables weren't long enough, so the silk had to be moved along once the painted sections had dried.
